Caught before flight: ANF recovers over 11kg of heroin

RAWALPINDI: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Rawalpindi thwarted a bid to transport over eight kilogrammes of heroin at Benazir Bhutto International Airport (BBIA) on Thursday.

According to an ANF statement, the officials of the force, acting on a tip-off by an informer, intercepted a vehicle entering parking area of BBIA and recovered 8.65 kilogrammes of heroin concealed in the panels of its front doors.

Three men, identified as Zahid Ali Khan, Zaro Jan and Muhammad Shafique, were present in the vehicle. ANF took the suspects in to custody.

ANF Rawalpindi arrested a foreign-bound traveller, Umar Saeed, at BBIA and recovered two kilogrammes of heroin concealed in his trolley bag.

In a separate incident, ANF Rawalpindi detained Usman Maqbool at BBIA for possessing 540 grams of heroin.
