Freeway: Khanna Interchange to open in July: official

With addition of two underpasses will result in the smooth flow of traffic

ISLAMABAD: The construction work of Khanna Interchange on Islamabad Expressway will be opened for all kind of traffic by
July this year, senior official of Capital Development Authority (CDA) Thursday said.

As part of Islamabad Expressway Signal Free Corridor, the CDA started work on Khanna and Sohan interchanges at the cost
of Rs2.05 billion in December 2016.

As per contract, construction work of Khanna Interchange Project should have been completed till December 2017.

The official said Sohan Interchange has been made operational earlier while the construction work of Khanna Interchange will be completed in July 2018.

With addition of two underpasses, it will result in the smooth flow of traffic from service roads of the interchange and will not cause any hassle for commuters on the Islamabad Expressway, he added.
