Rahila says world should recognise exemplary sacrifices rendered by Pak Army, security forces in war on terror

Balochistan Assembly Speaker Rahila Hameed Khan Durrani has said that Pakistan is a beautiful country and in order to strengthen and develop it every person will have to put in extra effort because our existence depends on it.

“The world should recognise and accept the exemplary sacrifices of the Pakistan Army and the masses rendered in the war on terror,” said the speaker while addressing a sports event in connection with the Spring Festival organised by the Government Girls Degree College Kehwari Road Quetta on Tuesday.

Rahila said, “The Pakistan Army is the world’s best army. The country owes its peace to the Pak Army and the security forces.”

Appreciating the sports’ arrangement during the festival, the speaker said, “Sports play a vital role in encouragement of healthy and positive trends in society as by arranging sports activities, youth can be nurtured in a better way.”

She said that Pakistani women, specially the women of Balochistan, were skilled and hardworking who not only proved their potential in sports in the country, but overseas as well.

She said that the current government was focusing on a brighter future for women by providing education, health and sports opportunities to them.

Congratulating the winning contestant of the tennis competition, she said that students should equally pay attention to their studies as well.

The speaker emphasised on the need for students to move forward while maintaining transparency in their views and decisions. She also encouraged them to play their part in the country’s development.

“Winning and losing are a part of life but after every loss, victory definitely comes across,” she said.

The speaker was of the view that without equal participation of women, the country could not stand with the developed world. “Women need to step up in every field and play their part in the country’s development,” she added.

She said, “The present government is trying to provide opportunities to women and they’re equally responsible for benefitting from these opportunities.”

The speaker said that it was an honor for them that of all the other provinces, women were treated with utmost respect only in Balochistan.

She said that in comparison with other provinces, the crimes against women were not much in Balochistan. “We must highlight the good things of our society,” she added.

On the occasion, the speaker assured that a computer lab and a digital library were in the pipeline for the college and announced Rs50,000 for the college spring festival.

Balochistan approves new budget

Government Girls College Principal Sanjeeda Almas said, “Work is being done on the syllabus as well as on extracurricular activities.”

She said that 3,500 students in the college were being given the best educational facilities.

She said the four-year BS programme was continuing successfully and the final examinations would be held at the end of April.

The principal thanked the speaker for her cooperation for the betterment of the college.

Later on, the speaker, Joint Director Colleges Rubab Hameed Khan Durrani and Principal Almas distributed awards and prizes among the outstanding students. The speaker also inaugurated a new block of the college. Two halls in the new block, which were being constructed with funds approved by the speaker, were near completion and in the final stages of completion.

The speaker also said that the new block would have all the help required for further extension.
