The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Textbook Board has started the first phase of delivering books for the academic year 2018-19 as per an agreement with the government.
In the first phase, which began on February 15, 2018, the board distributed approximately 48.7 million books out of 55.5 million books in all districts of the province. That is around 88 per cent of books included in the agreement.
After distributing books in the settled districts by the end of March, books were provided to the Fata. This task was completed by April 10, 2018.
This year, 14 new modified books (from grade five to 10) were prepared and distributed.
Distribution in the remaining districts is set to begin from Wednesday, April 11, which is expected to be completed by April 20.
