Regulating private education: PSRA approves new set of regulations

Regulator directs the management of all private schools to ensure strict compliance with regulations

PESHAWAR: The newly formed private schools regulatory authority moved one step closer to attaining full functionality after it approved regulations for the body.

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Private Schools Regulatory Authority (PSRA) Regulations 2018, formed under Section 30 of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Private Schools Regulatory Authority Act-2017 and in light of court verdicts, was approved in a high-level meeting of the body which was chaired by its Managing Director Syed Zafar Shah, read a statement issued by the body on Tuesday.

The regulator has directed the management of all private schools including Montessori, Kindergarten, tutoring centres, primary, middle, high, higher secondary schools or an institution of equivalent level imparting education through any system of education or medium of instruction in the private sector have been directed to ensure strict compliance with these regulations.
