In a fresh blow to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), three of its parliamentarians jumped ship on Sunday and announced to join Pak Sarzamen Party.

Flanked by PSP Chief Mustafa Kamal and President Anis Qaimkhani, member National Assembly (MNA) Mahboob Alam along with members provincial assembly (MPAs) Saifuddin Khalid and Kamran Farooqui announced joining Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) during a press conference at Pakistan House in Karachi.

Last week, Shabbir Ahmed Qaimkhani and MNA Muzammil Qureshi also parted ways with the party. Rabita (coordination) Committee member Qaimkhani said that he resigned from the party’s basic membership due to internal rifts. “We lost dear and loving colleagues due to infighting,” he was quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, Qureshi announced his decision of joining PSP in a news conference hosted by PSP leader Anis Qaimkhani at the party’s headquarters in Karachi. “We decided to come here because we want to solve the problems of Karachi and this is the best platform to do so,” said Qureshi. “We are not wickets or kites… we will fly and swim with PSP.”
