Senior Muttahida Qaumi Movement -Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Rauf Siddiqui finally tied the knot on Friday at the age of 57 in Saudi Arabia.
According to Express News, this is Siddiqui’s first wedding. His marriage was solemnised with Afaq Khan’s daughter, Mahnoor, in a simple ceremony presided by Abdul Munaf in Makkah.
The Nikkah was attended by Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Abdul Haseeb, MQM Saudi Arabia organisers Kafeel Siddiqui and friends.
It is pertinent to mention that Siddiqui has held important positions in the party including being a member of the Sindh Assembly on MQM’s ticket whereas he has played the role of a mediator in the dispute within MQM groups.
Sources relay that Siddiqui’s reception ceremony will be held on April 13 in Karachi.
Yesterday, in the latest blow to MQM– P, two more party leaders – Shabbir Ahmed Qaimkhani and MNA Muzammil Qureshi – parted ways with the party.
Rabita Committee member Shabbir Qaimkhani said that he has also resigned from the party’s basic membership. “We lost dear and loving colleagues due to infighting,” he was quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, Muzammil Qureshi announced his decision of joining the Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) in a news conference hosted by PSP leader Anis Qaimkhani at the party’s headquarters in Karachi.
