Salman Khan bail plea order postponed to Saturday

The actor will probably now spend another night in jail now

Actor Salman Khan's bail hearing was all set to happen on Friday morning, after he spent Thursday night in Jodhpur jail. However, it has now been reschedule for Saturday, reported CNN News 18. The actor will now spend a second night behind bars.

While Salman's sister is already at the court, brothers Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan are en route Jodhpur.



A Jodhpur court on Thursday pronounced Salman guilty in the 1998 black buck poaching case, wherein other Bollywood superstars Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Tabu and Neelam had also been accused.

Salman was sentenced to five years in prison with a fine of INR10,000 while Saif, Sonali, Tabu and Neelum were acquitted under section 9/51 of the Indian Wildlife Act. The council is arguing for an early probation.

The trial of the case was in progress for the last 19 years and the judge  had reserved the order after the final arguments on March 28.

The accused landed in Jodhpur on Wednesday ahead of the court hearing.

The movie stars were accused of poaching black bucks in Kankani village near Jodhpur on October 1 and October 2, 1998, during the shooting of Hum Saath Saath Hain movie. Hunting of black bucks is prohibited under India's Wildlife Protection Act.
