LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said no evidence was found regarding corruption allegations levelled by PTI Chief Imran Khan in the Orange Line Metro Train project and now he must shun politics of lies and accusations.

"Imran Khan's claim about corruption in mega development projects is to misguide the nation," he added.

Talking to the media during his visit to the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute, he said the PTI had introduced a culture of strikes and sit-ins. He added that nations, which made progress, faced no protests frequently. He recalled that the PTI's protests and strikes had caused a 22-month delay in the orang line project and people could not reap benefits of it.

Replying to a question, the chief minister said Chief of Army Staff Qamar Javed Bajwa was a professional and a straight forward man. "We must acknowledge and honour the endeavours of the army chief," he asserted.

The chief minister was of the opinion that civilian and the military authorities must work together to counter challenges being faced by the country. On the role of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the country, Shehbaz said, adding that it was good that the bureau was active these days. "If a transparent accountability system helped the country to move forward then it will be a great success."

Shehbaz said that there was no shortage of medicine in any hospital in Punjab. He added that the Punjab government was making efforts to provide medicines to patients.
