At least two terrorists were killed and a Balochistan Frontier Corps (FC) personnel embraced martyrdom in an exchange of fire during intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in the restive province on Wednesday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), IBOs were carried out in Pinsin Kaur, Dasht, Turbat and Dera Bugti.

A large cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from hideouts.

CTD arrests seven suspected terrorists in Lahore operation


On  March 30, at least six suspected terrorists and an alleged suicide bomber were arrested  when the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and the Intelligence Bureau (IB) foiled a major terrorist plot during a joint operation in Lahore.

According to Express News, the accused were identified as Islam-ul-Haq, Jahangir Shah, Imran, Waqar and Aleem whereas Luqman was the suspected bomber.

CTD officials claimed the alleged terrorists were involved in attacks on Bedian and Ferozpur roads and were plotting attacks from a seminary they took refuge in.

The arrested terrorists had also allegedly planned to attack the Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches but were not successful.

Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad, or Elimination of Discord, was launched in February 2017 after a sharp uptick in terrorist attacks in the country.
