Espionage Suspect: Woman arrested near sensitive facility

Saddar Police on Thursday arrested a woman suspected of espionage from near a sensitive agency’s office. The woman identified herself as Roheela Tariq Bhatti. A computerised national identity card recovered from her stated that she was a resident of Karachi. She told the police that she originally belonged to Rawalpindi. She said she had come from Loralai and was working with the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR). She said she was a Christian and had married a Pakistani Muslim. She said they had two children and that her family divided their time between Karachi and Dubai. Saddar police said the woman stated during investigation that major terrorism incidents were expected to happen in the coming days. SHO Rana Muhammad Iqbal said they had held the woman and were interrogating her.
