An increase in the hours of load-shedding is torturous for both the commercial and residential consumers
KARACHI: Unscheduled load-shedding by K-Electric is becoming a nuisance for the citizens of Karachi. I am as clueless as any other citizen, why K-E shuts down power for hours on end in the name of ‘K-E maintenance shutdown’. In fact, the same ‘maintenance shutdown’ took place thrice in the vicinity of Soldier Bazaar during the first 15 days of March only.
Such maintenance shutdowns have become more frequent over the past few months. An increase in the hours of load-shedding is torturous for both the commercial and residential consumers of K-Electric. Also, the winter season has just ended and the weather is not as hot as it is in the months of June and July. But with the current situation of unscheduled load-shedding, one is left to wonder if there is going to be regular power supply at all in the city. The authorities concerned should take notice.
