KARACHI:

The people of Pakistan can never forget May 12 because the so-called democratic parties massacred the innocent that day, said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Central Secretary General Iqbal Zafar Jhagra on Thursday.

“Those who killed the innocent will never lead a comfortable life and it is God’s revenge that they are in self-exile,” Jhagra remarked while addressing a congregation of party leaders and workers at the Sindh PML-N chief organiser Syed Hafeezud Din’s residence. “Karachi has been hijacked by those who spread violence and repeat the May 12 mayhem every day,” he said. “It is pathetic that the cases are still pending after four years. The chief justice must take suo motu notice as soon as possible.”

“After May 12, the US operation in Abbottabad has to be the most threatening incident to jeopardise the sovereignty of the country. The Pakistan Army is helpless in stopping the US aggression because of a secret deal between the US and the Pakistan government,” Jhagra alleged. He said that the commission on Abbottabad will not be allowed to keep the report secret and those declared guilty will not be spared punishment.

“The PML-N leader, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, has given a three-day ultimatum to the government on the Abbottabad tragedy. If the government fails to respond within the deadline, the PML-N will manifest its power and take to the streets until the government is toppled,” said Syed Hafeezuddin in his address.

The PML-N women wing leader, Perveen Basheer, also addressed the congregation. The members of the meeting displayed their shoes in condemnation of Musharraf and chanted slogans against him, warning him against returning to the country.
