A full bench constituted by the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Saturday broke as Justice Shahid Mubeen recused himself from hearing the contempt petitions filed against the Sharif family.

The bench was formed to hear contempt petitions against deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif and daughter Maryam Nawaz after the full bench of the Lahore High Court formed earlier was dissolved.

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar has summoned the attorney general on the matter. AK Dogar appeared as Nawaz's counsel.

Chief Justice of LHC Mohammad Yawar Ali Khan formed a new bench, headed by Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi, after Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan from the earlier bench was transferred to Multan for a case.

Justice Mubeen was included to the new bench as Justice Bilal’s replacement.

Earlier this month, the LHC issued a notice to Nawaz and his daughter Maryam for their anti-judiciary remarks.
