Repatriation of Afghan refugees

Terrorist groups based in Afghanistan have repeatedly used Pakistani territory

ISLAMABAD: Terrorist groups based in Afghanistan have repeatedly used Pakistani territory to carry out their malicious acts. Despite being a major sufferer, Pakistan also faces criticism from officials from the neighbouring country for not taking a decisive action against the terrorists. This is also because while Pakistan hosts over 1.4 million of Afghan refugees, it has undoubtedly also found these refugees to be involved in terrorist activities one way or the other.

What’s worse is that the militant group Islamic State is also believed to exist in the border regions of the country. In view of such developments, prompt repatriation of the Afghan refugees to their home country has become even more important. The extensions granted by the Pakistani government will only add to the threat due to the presence of Afghan refugees in the country.
