The epicenter of the quake was the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border area and the jolts were felt for nearly 15 seconds in the whole region, Express News reported.
Tremors were felt in Peshawar, Upper Dir, Nowshera, Swat, Mengora, Orakzai Agency, Swabi, Mansehra, Mardan and Malakand Division among other areas.
No loss of life or property has been reported after the earthquake.

At least two people were killed when a 6.1-magnitude quake jolted many parts of the country in January.
In Quetta, many buildings were reported to have cracks in their foundations. A minor girl, aged 1.5 months, died when the wall of a house fell in Balochistan’s Lasbela district. Sameena, daughter of Ali Akbar, was killed, while many others were injured.
In Swat Valley, a visitor in a local hotel had passed away due to a heart attack as a result of jolts in the building.
