Corrections: EC puts up initial lists of voters

Final lists to be issued in May

PESHAWAR: Provincial Election Commissioner Pir Maqbool Hussain here on Friday said the Election Commission (EC) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has established display centres for unofficial voters' lists in K-P and Fata to register, correct or remove name from these lists.

Talking at a media briefing, he said the lists would be available at display centres till April 24. The final lists would be issued in May and after that, no change would be made, he added.



He said EC was busy in preparations for the upcoming general elections and to ensure transparency and credibility of these elections, arrangement of error-free credible and reliable voters' lists was the first and important step toward this direction. The preparation of voter lists is carried out under Reviewed Election Act and regulation 2017, he informed.
