SHABQADAR: After a long lapse of more than 11 years A first ever Khuli Kachehri (open court) was held in Ambar tehsil in Mohmand after restoration of peace.

Lower Mohmand Assitant Political Agent (APA) who organised the kachehri in the area along with officials of health, education, and other line departments have termed it a historic one, as the area remained under militant control from 2007 to 13.

However, in 2016, 36 men mostly teenagers were killed in a suicide blast in a mosque.

Management: ‘Strict action against negligent officials’

The locals have appealed for the construction of a high school in the area. Boys and girls have to travel 20km to Bajaur Agency to attend secondary school.

They also complained about lack of healthcare facilities adding that people had to travel to Bajaur Agency in emergency situation for medical treatment.

The APA said these issues would be duly addressed  on priority in the next Annual Development Plan.
