LAHORE: A writ petition was filed in Lahore High Court (LHC) seeking action against Law Minister Rana Sanaullah and Punjab IGP for allegedly not complying with the directions of the court regarding ban on processions, sit-ins and protests on Mall Road. The petitioner contended that the government had completely failed in implementing court orders in which a complete ban had been imposed on holding protests, sit-ins, processions and other such activities. He stated that the law minster, IGP and chief secretary were responsible for not acting upon court orders. He said that action was not being taken against those approaching Mall Road for the purpose of holding processions, protests and sit-ins. He contended that Mall Road gets completely blocked due to protests. He stated citizens had to face problems and traffic jams owing to such activities.
