KARACHI: Moammar Rana is a big name in the Pakistani film industry.

From the 1990s to the early 2000s, he has been one of the few Pakistani actors who became the face of Lollywood, giving hits like Choorian, Yeh Dil Aapka Huwa and Love Mein Ghum. And now, Rana is back with yet another film: Azaadi.

Starring opposite the ever-so-gorgeous Sonya Hussyn, the actor essays the role of a Pakistani patriot ready to fight for Kashmir.

Veteran actor Nadeem Baig will also be seen playing a significant role in Azaadi.

While Hussyn looks beautiful in the trailer, Rana unfortunately doesn't seem to bring anything new to the table. His entry in the trailer sure looks grandeur but it reflects the old school, Punjabi film hero, making his presence known, strongly.

Although Rana's acting skills have been awarded several times, in this day and age, his dialogue delivery insinuates forced emotions rather than natural ones. Is he trying too hard to match up to today's Fawad Khan? Or look evergreen like Humayun Saeed?

There's no doubt that Rana is very handsome in the trailer. Except for when he sports a clean-shaven look that makes him look like a 40-year-old trying to look 20.

Packed with a lot of action - albeit very cheap visual effects - and some romance, Azaadi might just be one of Rana's mistakes. But we're hoping that Hussyn will be able to wow audiences with her chic looks and acting prowess.
