FBR begins auditing income of Ali Tareen

FBR summoned the details of Tareen’s assets pertaining to the year 2012

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has begun its probe into the sources of income of Ali Tareen, the son of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Jehangir Tareen, reported Express News.

The FBR has summoned the details of Tareen’s assets for the year 2012 and issued a notice in this regard.

According to reports, Tareen’s assets are being probed because his name appeared in the Panama Papers.

PTI fields son to secure father’s seat

Last year, Tareen, submitted nomination papers to contest the by-election from NA-154, a National Assembly seat from Lodhran which fell vacant after the disqualification of his father on Supreme Court (SC) orders.

However, he lost to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Iqbal Shah in the by-election held in February this year.
