LAHORE:

Traffic Police has claimed foiling a kidnapping attempt on two children near Bhati Chowk.

According to the traffic police, 7-year-old Adeel and his 5-year-old sister Khadija, residents of Chungi Amarsidhu, were mistakenly dropped by a bus at Bhati Chowk and forgot their way home. As both the children were standing by the roadside, two outlaws tried to kidnap them but the children started shouting and ran towards the traffic wardens standing at a nearby chowk.

Wardens Kashif Sufian and Sheraz saw the children and rescued them from the outlaws, a handout issued by the CTP said. They also tried to capture the outlaws, however, they escaped. The wardens took the children to their sector office and informed the Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) about the incident who directed that they be sent them home. The traffic police delivered the children to their home. The CTO appreciated the performance of the wardens and announced certificates of commendation for them.
