Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to form an independent opposition group in Senate.

Differences between the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and PTI have widened after PTI failed to get its candidate elected as the opposition leader in Senate and the election of Sherry Rehman as the opposition leader.

The PTI has become active in creating an independent opposition group in Senate and has increased its efforts to win over the support of Fata members.

To contact Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and other parties, the K-P Chief Minister Pervez Khattak is expected to visit Karachi.

The independent opposition group will also deal with the policies of the PPP in Sindh with an iron hand.

PTI Senator Azam Swati said that the party will sit under the name of independent group in Senate and play their full role in opposition. He claimed that 25 senators are throwing weight behind this move.

Meanwhile, the secretary information of the PTI, Fawad Chaudhry has termed the prime minister's claims regarding the production of electricity as unsubstantiated. He said that if the PM had viewed the statistics of NEPRA, then he may not have made such a claim.

The reaction given by PTI’s Fawad Chaudhry yesterday on PM’s statement had questioned the rotational loans reaching to the tune of Rs1,000 billion despite claims of paying billions of rupees.
