Woman refused entry into Buenos Aires nightclub for being 'too fat'

Claims club's doorman checking guests said she was not "the kind of girl who goes to his place"

A woman visiting a nightclub in Argentina's capital city of Buenos Aires claims she was refused entry into the place due to her weight.

According to a report in Mirror, Agustina Rios Martinez went to Rose in Rio club with her boyfriend to attend her friend's birthday celebration. However, the bouncer at the door allegedly barred Martinez from entering as she did not "hit the target".

Following the incident, Martinez took to social media to register her protest and linked the official Facebook page of the doorman, who she named Fernando Diaz de Liano, in her post.



The post went viral, leading de Liano to take his Facebook page down.

In her post, Martinez narrated the incident and said de Liano, who was checking people at the entrance, told her she was not "the kind of girl who goes to his place" and that "she did not hit the target".

She said: "All my life I have been insulted, shouted at in the street, and mocked because I was a fatty, but not letting me in a club because of my physical appearance?

"It was the worst thing that happened to me so far."

Martinez's post has been viewed more than 14,000 times and attracted over 2,800 comments.

Disgruntled, she said she did not go to the club that night and will never return.



Concluding her statement on Facebook, she said, "I share this with you so that you try not to go to these type of sh*t places that have no brain and believe they can manage the universe."

Martinez's brother says the incident was traumatic for his sister and has caused her a great deal of stress and anxiety. But support online has been pouring in.
