PESHAWAR: Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) provincial president Amir Muqam has stated PML-N was the country’s founding party with a prosperous nation as its agenda and the only leader the general public loved the most was former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.

Muqam, who is also a member of the federal cabinet, however, stated that some elements were, unfortunately, carrying on their own and weakening the country. He was addressing a public gathering to celebrate Pakistan Day in the provincial capital.

Muqam stated that running a country of 200 million people was not as simple as people thought, adding many, who could not manage their homes, were making attempts to run the country. While referring to Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, Muqam stated that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) has become a place for carrying out experiments.

He stated that K-P residents wanted similar developmental activities just like PML-N has been doing in Punjab where people of the provincial capital wanted Peshawar as developed as Lahore adding that the provincial capital has turned into ruins but people will take revenge in next general polls.

The prime minister’s advisor questioned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan for failing to find Senate candidates among party workers by saying he could not find a single worker for Senate of Pakistan and gave tickets to unknown people.

He stated that people, who were not party worker neither did they appear anywhere in party gatherings were given Senate tickets, adding those chanted slogans of change for several years and held sit-ins for months should question Khan for distributing tickets among strangers.

“Nation is asking how will Ayub Afridi and Khyal Zaman represent PTI,” Muqam asked adding Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari bought senate votes but questioned how will Zardari buy people in next general polls. He also stated that a religious scholar [referring to Maulana Samiul Haq] was dodged in Senate election.
