Her astute understanding of politics does make her the right candidate for the post
KARACHI: Sherry Rehman’s election as the leader of opposition in the Senate has given the Pakistan People Party an edge in the next general elections as PPP-backed candidate Sadiq Sanjrani is also the Senate chairman. Moreover, Sherry’s appointment has also put the PPP on the historical map of the country once again, as she becomes the first female to become an opposition leader in the country’s history. PPP’s Benazir Bhutto went on to become Pakistan’s first female prime minister.
Whether Sherry’s appointment will prove advantageous to the party will only be known with time, but her astute understanding of politics does make her the right candidate for the post. Perhaps, her knowledge and wisdom will help with the country’s progress.
