Who’s the fairest? Farm animals compete in beauty pageant

Goats, sheep, baby buffaloes, bulls and cows vied for the crown

Redefining the standards of beauty, goats, sheep, baby buffaloes, bulls and cows competed in a pageant in Jugaitpir, Cholistan on Thursday.

A large number of people thronged to the event to witness the “beastly beauties” in real life.

Muhammad Ayub’s animal was crowned the fairest goat. Second place was awarded to Allah Rakha’s goat while third place was given to Muhammed Bilal’s.

In the battle of the sheep, Qurban Ali’s pride and joy took home the cake, while Barkat Ali’s and Nazeer Ahmed’s sheep took second and third position, respectively.

Ahmed Baksh’s contender crushed the baby buffalo’s category. In second place, came Muhammed Asif and his buffalo, while third place was given to Muhammad Javed’s buffalo.

Haq Nawaz’s bull dominated his category, with Shah Muhammad’s coming in second and Jaffar Hussain’s coming in third.

In the category of bulls with two teeth, Allah Ditta’s bull swept the competition. Pir Baksh and his bull were awarded second place while third place was given to Sultan Khan and his animal.


Cattle farmers ‘milk it’ in competition

Jugaitpir Farm’s cow wowed audiences by securing first position, while second and third place were given to Allah Yar’s and Muhammad Mazhar’s beasts.

However, the festivities did not conclude with the unusual pageant. Organisers had also arranged a milking competition.

The supreme winner among the cows was Wazeer Ahmed’s who produced 27.93kg of milk. In second and third place were Allah Jawaya’s cows with 27.25kg and 25kg respectively.

In the battle of the camels, Muhammad Saleh’s animal came first with a whopping 20.04kg of milk. Haq Nawaz’s camel came in second with 19.09kg and in third place was Muhammed Manzoor’s beast with 16.06kg of milk.

Bahawalpur Livestock and Dairy Development Divisional Director Dr Rab Nawaz Kausar, Cholistan Director Dr Ali Raza Abbasi and Chemical Association Pakistan President Dr Muhammad Younis distributed prizes and trophies among the winners.
