Missiles fired upon PPP leader's house in Bajaur Agency

Although the leader was present in the house at the time of the attack no casualties were reported

PESHAWAR: A round of missiles was fired upon Pakistan Peoples Party leader Syed Akhunzada Chattan's house in Bajaur Agency late on Saturday night.

Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) officials confirmed that the PPP provincial president and former member parliament was present in the house when it came under attack, however, no casualties were reported.

Shortly after the incident, the area was cordoned off by security forces and levies and a search operation was launched.

Condemnations pour in

Three security personnel martyred in North Waziristan IED blast

PPP c0-chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari condemned the attack on micro-blogging site Twitter.





PPP leader and candidate for Senate opposition, senator Sherry Rehman also expressed anguish at the attack.
"Strongly condemn this attack on @chattanhouse #PPP by militants in Bajaur," she wrote.



Other party leaders, supporters also condomned the attack
