Cheques worth Rs 5.53 million from Zakat funds were given to 295 applicants of Jahez grant and social rehabilitation

FAISALABAD: Under the arrangements of District Zakat Committee, cheques worth Rs 5.53 million from Zakat funds have been given to 295 applicants of Jahez grant and social rehabilitation.

In this regard, a ceremony was held at Jinnah Hall of District Council for distributing Zakat fund cheques among the applicants.

Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani was the chief guest on the occasion. District Zakat Committee Chairperson Nazir Hussain Bajwa, Member Committee Ruqaya Ibrahim and others were also present.

While addressing the ceremony, the deputy commissioner said that Punjab government had initiated different welfare policies for the social protection of the poor and needy people. He appreciated the performance of the District Zakat Committee for fair and transparent distribution of Zakat funds.

Chairman District Zakat Committee Nazir Hussain Bajwa said that Zakat funds worth millions of rupees were being distributed to help deserving women and imparting technical education to deserving youngsters.
