Inspector Tariq Rahim, Tariq Mehmood and Azhar Hussain Rizvi were suspended from their duties by the newly appointed CIA DIG, Amin Yousufzai.
Their dismissal orders were issued after completion of the inquiry report, which stated that street firing by the aforementioned police officials on Intizar’s car was ‘baseless’ and the officers have been expelled from their duties over severe violation of law.
The incident has severely damaged the reputation of police department, it further added.
Intizar murder case: Police give clean chit to ex-SSP Muqaddas Haider, Madiha Kiyani
The accused used official and personal weapons and a private vehicle at the scene, said the final order, adding the accused were in plain clothes and instead of following Intizar’s car, they opened fire on it.
The police had given a clean chit to former Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Muqaddas Haider of the ACLC and Madiha Kiyani, the girl present in the car when Intizar was gunned down, in its interim charge sheet issued earlier this month.
Intizar was shot dead on January 13 on Khayaban-e-Ittehad of Karachi’s upscale DHA neighbourhood after officials and personnel of the ACLC resorted to an indiscriminate fire on his white-coloured Toyota Corolla, killing the victim on the spot.
Although the police had initially claimed that the boy was killed in an act of targeted killing by at least two armed assailants riding a motorcycle, it was later revealed that the ACLC officials and police personnel were behind the brutal killing.
