The blast occurred in the house of Maulvi Habibullah Jogezi, situated some 190 km north of Quetta, said official sources.

“The owner of the house was killed in the blast and his family members injured seriously,” said Balochistan Home Minister Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti, adding that a rescue operation has been launched in the area.

According to sources, some people were loading items from the house into a tractor trolley when a powerful blast occurred resulting in a fire.

“The house was completely destroyed in the blast,” Bugti said. "Death toll could increase as rescue workers were removing the debris of the house."

However, he refuted the rumours that it was a drone attack. “No such evidence was found which prove the explosion was caused by a drone attack,” the Home Minister said, adding that the local administration also denied the reports.

According to sources it was big house having 12 rooms. “All rooms and other portion of the house completely collapsed,” Nizam-uddin a local journalist said.

He said that there are reports that at least six people have been killed in the blast. However, Shafqat Anwar Shahwani, the Deputy Commissioner Qila Saifullah confirmed only two deaths and said that six people of the family were injured in the blast.

Molvi Habibullah Jogezai is son of a prominent religious personality Sheikh-Ul-Hades Maulana Abdullah Jogezai.
