PPP chief whip slams Nawaz, nationalists

Those opposing the election of Sanjrani are not sincere with the province, says Ali Madad Jattak

QUETTA: The Provincial President of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Balochistan, Ali Madad Jattak said that there is no danger to democracy after the election of the Chairman senate from Balochistan, but it could indeed be a real threat to the interests of the so-called nationalists who always exploited the Baloch.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, he also criticised the speeches of Mian Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz, in which they used objectionable language against the Chairman Senate and the senators who voted for him.

The Vice Chairman of Municipal Committee Sui, Mohsin Ali Bugti announced joining PPP along with his supporters on the occasion. Jattak welcomed Bugti and his supporters to the party. Iqbal Shah, the provincial general secretary of the party was also present at the conference.

Moreover, Jattak termed the election of Mir Sadiq Sanjrani a victory of the people of Balochistan and said that though it will not remove the sense of deprivation prevailing for the past 70 years, it will pave the way for making efforts to bring the backward province on a par with the developed ones.

He said those opposing the election of Sanjrani were not sincere with the province and by using offensive language they were insulting the people of the province and their elected representatives. The PPP Balochistan president also added that Asif Ali Zardari showed greatness and extended all his support for Balochistan’s candidate despite having second position in senate with 20 senators. He also lauded Imran Khan, who handed over his 13 senators to Chief Minister Balochistan, Abdul Quddus Bizenjo.

“Mian Nawaz Sharif and his daughter should apologize to the people of Balochistan for using insulting language against them”, demanded PPP’s provincial president.
