Prolific Zaman inspires Lahore to 17-run win over Quetta

Left-hander scores tournament's highest score of 94 off 50 to guide his team to third successive victory

Lahore Qalandars beat Quetta Gladiators by 17 runs in the 26th match of the Pakistan Super League (PLS)’s third edition in Sharjah on Wednesday.

After being put into bat first, Qalandars posted 186 for the loss of four wickets in their allotted 20 overs, courtesy opener Fakhar Zaman's inspirational 94 off 50 balls.

For Quetta, pacers Anwar Ali, Rahat Ali, Mir Hamza and left-arm spinner Hasan Khan claimed a wicket each.

In reply, after a solid start, Gladiators lost their way with flurry of wickets and only managed to score 169-6 in their 20 overs.

Lahore down Karachi in super over


Middle-order batsman Rilee Rossouw was the top scorer for the losing side on the night with 42 off 22 balls.

For Lahore, spinners Sunil Narine and Yasir Shah claimed two wickets each.
