UoP teacher among 14 to get achievement award

Award also honours all the women in the academic field who are undermined and misrepresented

PESHAWAR: A teacher at the University of Peshawar was among 14 women who were recognised for their achievements, a university statement said on Tuesday.

Dr Bushra Khan, an associate professor of Environmental Chemistry at the Department of Environmental Sciences, was awarded for her achievements on the eve of international women day.

Blue Veins, a non-governmental organization in collaboration with Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Commission on Safety of Women (KPCSW) and the Australian government handed out achievement awards to 14 women from different walks of life.

Dr Bushra, the statement said, has published over 19 research articles and has designed procedures to test the biodegradation and absorption of emerging contaminants in aerobic soils.

This award also honours all the women in the academic field who are undermined and misrepresented, she said in a statement.

“We are thankful to all of the women and their contributions to the society,” she shared.
