Balochistan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Sardar Yar Mohammad Rind on Saturday came down hard on previous regimes for doing nothing to put an end to the sense of deprivation among the people of the province.

“The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have done nothing for the under-developed province but line their pockets with the national exchequer’s money,” said the PTI provincial chief while addressing a public gathering in Dalbandin.

Rind said, “The federal government released Rs850 billion for development of Balochistan, but not a single penny can be seen being spent for the purpose.”

Taking nationalist political parties to task, Sardar Rind said, “People cursing and holding the Punjab government responsible for all the ills befalling Balochistan for the last 70 years, have pledged loyalty to deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif.”

On horse-trading during Senate elections, the PTI provincial chief said, “People should vote for candidates who truly care about their issues and not those who sell their votes and malign the dignity of the province.”

He said that the leaders had promised that multi-billion dollar projects like Saindak and Reko Dik would change the lives of people living in Chagai and Dalbandin, but nothing positive took place.

He termed PTI chief Imran Khan’s decision of putting the weight of PTI senators behind Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Baloch for Senate chairman and deputy chairman slots as a milestone move.

He said that he had lavish offers from various political parties to join them, but he had to go with a party that had a vision for Pakistan, particularly Balochistan.

Sardar Rind said, “The PTI is slowly but gradually succeeding in bringing about change to lead the country towards development.”

He vowed not to let Balochistan fall behind in terms of development.

Rind said that more development projects would be initiated and completed on time and modern infrastructure would be built for the people of Dalbandin if the PTI formed the next government.

PTI Provincial Joint Secretary Sardar Atifi Sanjarani, Provincial Secretary Information Babar Yousafzai, Munir Baloch, Agha Rahimuddin, Aurangzeb Badini and other leaders also addressed the gathering.
