LAHORE: Action against students, who were involved in violence on campus on January 22, was taken as per law, rules and regulations without any prejudice. This was stated by Punjab University spokesman in a press statement issued on Friday. He said that the administration would not tolerate any pressure from any student organisation. He added that students were expelled on the basis of strong evidence. “However, they had their lawful right to file appeals with the vice chancellor.” A majority of Baloch and Pashtun students were peaceful and good students, he said. “Around 600 Baloch and Pashtun students are studying in the university, while the administration has expelled only four students who were involved in violence on the campus. The administration is determined to maintain peace on the campus, he said.
