Rs1.7m fine imposed on three industries in Quetta

Minister is visiting industrial zones, factories in Quetta and Hub since taking charge

Minister of Environment Balochistan Prince Ahmed Ali on Friday, imposed Rs1.7 million fine to three more industries in hub over violation of laws of pollution, labour safety and negative effects on public health.


The environment minister has been visiting industrial zones, factories in Quetta and Hub since taking charge.


In one of the visits, he has fined several factories and industries. In his recent visit to industries of hub city Ali  has imposed fine on three more industries for violating common laws.


Balochistan bans use of plastic bags


In April 2017, Balochistan Assembly passed a resolution to impose a complete ban on the sale, use, and production of plastic bags in order to protect the environment and to also make efforts to find substitute products.

The provincial Environment Protection Agency director-general issued an official notification on Saturday banning the use and production of plastic bags all over the province, renewing the department’s efforts to implement the ban in more effective manner and in the interests of defending the environment and the public health.
