Divisional Emergency Officer Malik Asif Rahim Channar was the chief guest for the event. When Rescue 1122 was started 11 years ago, there were hardly any emergencies, our reach was limited and people lacked awareness, he reminisced.
Sharing details from a special report, Channar revealed that in 11 years Bahawalpur District Control Room received over 4.852 million phone calls from which 193,369 calls were related to emergency situations the response time on which was 6.32 minutes.
In 11 years the service tended to 56,653 road accidents, 2,719 fires, 54 incidents of walls and buildings collapsing, 19 cylinder blasts, 5,247 domestic quarrels, 106,496 medical emergencies and 21,841 other crises.
Additionally, the rescuers of the Bahawalpur division saved 300 individuals from drowning. In total, they came to the aid of 196,753 people.
