Islamabad United all-rounder Andre Russell is set to miss the remainder of the third edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) after suffering a hamstring injury.
The 29-year-old got injured while fielding during United’s eight-wicket win over Karachi Kings.
Russell missed the entire second season of the PSL after being banned for missing multiple dope tests.
The news comes as a major blow for the first editions’ champions United, who are already sweating over the fitness of pacer Rumman Raees, who also injured himself while fielding in the match against Quetta Gladiators on February 28.
Russell represented United in 14 matches, where he scored 110 runs at a strike-rate of 119 with the highest of 35.
With the bowl in hand, the Jamaica-born pacer claimed 20 wickets at an average of 18.25 and economy rate of 8.23.
