One policeman embraced martyrdom on Wednesday when unidentified assailants opened fire on a police vehicle in Quetta.
The incident, which took place in the Shalkot area of the city, also left another police official injured.
The culprits opened fire on the police's armoured vehicle. The martyred official was identified as Qadir.
Two policemen martyred as DSP's car comes under attack in Quetta
Last month, two policemen were martyred when Deputy Superintendent of Police Hameedullah Dasti’s car came under heavy firing by unidentified assailants on Sumungli Road in Quetta.
“DSP Dasti remained safe in the attack,” confirmed Balochistan police.
The deceased were identified as Muhammad Thair and Ayoub Shah. According to the police, DSP Dasti was on his way to the office when his vehicle came under attack.
On February 28, four troops of the paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC) were martyred and seven others were seriously injured when a suicide bomber detonated his explosive-laden vest at a check-post in the outskirts of Quetta.
