Women’s struggle: far from over

Letter March 07, 2018
Historically, women-led movements across the world have always changed the political discourse

KARACHI: Every year on March 8th Women’s Day is observed globally as a celebration of women coming a long way from their struggles of fighting for their basic rights. However, at the same time, it also reminds the 51 per cent of the country’s population to strive for the rights they are still not granted. Historically, women-led movements across the world have always changed the political discourse of their time. Yet the gender is still widely repressed.

Over the years, women have sought a fair share of rights for themselves, but the struggle is far from over.
