Faizan’s family returns, buys house and car

Families of Raymond Davis' victims had gone "underground" after the diyat payment.

LAHORE: Family members of Faizan Haider, who was killed by Raymond Davis last January, have returned to their home in Ferozwala.

The family returns after staying at an unidentified location for several months. The families of Faizan Haider and Faheem Shamshad had gone missing following the diyat payment on behalf of Raymond Davis on March 15.

A team of Express News went to their house but were prevented by other relatives from contacting any member of the family.

Sources reported that the family had bought a brand new car and a house in Ferozwala area near Lahore. Ferozwala is a suburban area having farmland and expansive houses.

Haider and Shehzad were shot dead in Qurtaba Chowk, Lahore by a US contractor, Raymond Davis. During the inquest, representatives of Davis submitted documents proving that as per Pakistani law, blood money had been paid to each of the grieved families, nullifying the need for a trial.

As Raymond had allegations of double murdering and his act was strongly condemned by the whole nation, he was set freed. Imagine the intensity of heat and grief on the sad incident that wife of a victim committed suicide out of feelings of helplessness and despair from the justice delivering faction of the society. Religious groups and political parties pushed the families of victim to accept blood money referring it as a shariah law. At last but not least it was proven that money can buy you anything even pardon. It is shame for the whole nation that we have no dignity but compromises in life .we pardoned Raymond Davis for three lives but could not manage a pardon for Aafia for just attempt to attack on Nato officer. the Truth | 12 years ago | Reply they were a pair of criminals, good riddance! They did more for their families in death than they ever would have done in if they were alive. American or not, Davis did what our police should have done. It's funny to me to hear about people complain that the US does not respect Pakistani law and yet only get angrier when they do things according to that same law. Lets face it, we live in a nation of hypocrites.

As the killers are influential they force the famlies with dire consequences if they refuse and then pay megre sums to get away. The picture the media painted at the time was as if this was the first time this has happened. Yesterday's news: Jirga awards Rs. 250000 and 12 girls (aged between 5 to 15 years) as blood money for the murder of 4 persons. Where are the TV channels and the ghariat brigades now. Its not even a news item worth discussion..... No Amriki involved, no news unfortunately

What about the amreeki kafir killing their prized sons? pehlay amreeka ko gaali phir uskay maal se gaari. Why don't all those hysterical anchors apologise to the nation now? why don't they condemn & criticise these families now,these people after coming on every channel & saying repeatedly that they didn't want money only death for raymond then greedily sold their dead sons out & took wads of cash.Agar zabardasti paisa dia tha to gaari aur bangla bhi zabardasti dia tha kia??
