The suspect was detained last week after applying for asylum in the central European country.
“The police ... found out that there was an international arrest warrant for him issued by Pakistan for murder, terrorism and other criminal offences,” Kubice said.
“Pakistan can request extradition, which it has not done at this time.” Kubice did not give any other information about the suspect and said a court would decide about any possible extradition.
He said there were no reports showing the EU member faced any threat of a terror attack.
Earlier this month Czech police charged six people from Russia’s northern Caucasus region with supporting terrorism or illegal arms possession after a series of raids.
