Cleaniliness: Anti-littering drive being revamped

ISLAMABAD:

Capital Development Authority (CDA) has planned to revamp its anti-littering campaign aimed at preserving the capital’s beauty.

The authorities launched an awareness walk, on April 29 under the ‘Join us to clean up’, drive in which school children,
representatives of NGOS and sector citizen committees took part.

The campaigners started off from Jinnah Super Market, collecting garbage from roadsides and shopping areas. Chairman CDA, Imtiaz Inayat Elahi appealed to the citizens to cooperate for ensuring cleanliness saying: “This city is our identity”.

He also stated that the campaign’s focus is on removing garbage heaps, construction material and other eye sores which are ruining the capital’s beauty.

Speaking on the importance of raising awareness on the issue he said pamphlets and brochures, highlighting the importance of cleanliness are being distributed among the citizens.
