LAHORE: “Pakistan’s economy is deteriorating, prices of fuel and general commodities are increasing, which was not the case in my tenure”, said deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif while addressing a public gathering at Kot Momin.

He said that instead of the government, the people [judges] who ousted him from premiership should be blamed for the country’s declining economy. “In my tenure, Pakistan was on the path to prosperity. Disqualifying me was a disregard of votes and we [PML-N] will not respect those who do not respect their sanctity”, stated Nawaz while calling the current situation pre-election rigging.

The former PML-N president further said that after removing him from office and party presidency, the judges want him barred from politics for life but the people have rejected the court’s verdict and all conspiracies against democracy, citing the party’s victory in a recent by-election.

His party is in power at both the centre and in the largest province and he still has an iron grip on it, yet he talks as though he is in opposition. This man is utterly shameless.Recommend

INawaz is trying to say that the current PM appointed by him is not effective. That also means that Nawaz is not good in decision making and there is a shortage of good and reasonable leaders in PMLN. Nawaz selling lies to innocent people. I would be more comfortable if I know that people came for a plate of biryani and not to listen and believe his narrative.Recommend

Not only is his party still in power, but even when he was at the helm all the development indicators were heading south. An artificially pegged and maintained for several years rupee vs dollar exchange rate doesn’t add up to prosperity but only reflect one of the many ill-advised doings of that absconder pal of his: DarRecommend

Now who is in the government?Shahid Khaqan Abbasi his own elected PM in the office who meets him frequently and discusses with him all national issues and takes all steps after consultation with him means behind the scene Nawaz Sharif has full control on his elected ministers and they can’t deny his orders to obey then why is he saying so?PMLN is ruling the Pakistan. Why crying on it that he is not in the PM office or does he want to say that he is not satisfied with his party’s and minsters’ performances without his premiership?Recommend
