University of Gujrat: Conference on CPEC begins today

Conference will shed light on long and short term impact of mega project on country’s economy

GUJRAT: A two-day national conference on CPEC, Institutions and Inclusive Growth of Pakistan will be conducted at the Hafiz Hayat Campus of the University of Gujrat (UoG) on Tuesday. The conference has been organised by the UoG Economics department and will shed light on the long and short term impact of the mega project on the country’s economy and the pace of progress after its successful implementation. Vice Chancellor Prof Dr ZiaUl Qayyum will preside over the opening ceremony. Chairperson Economics department Dr Faisal Mehmood Mirza said that scholars and experts from all over the country will attend the conference and share their opinions on the geopolitical and economic importance of CPEC through presenting papers and participating in debate sessions. Technical and various other aspects will also be discussed, he said.
