Holy cow: PFA unveils new milk machines

The machines enable us to scan quality of milk within minutes cutting down on our waiting time

LAHORE: Three milk analyser machines were unveiled by the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) during a ceremony on Monday. The machines, which were imported from Italy, are equipped with the latest technology.  Director General PFA Noorul Amin Mengal, along with other PFA team members presented the machines to the public. He said that such heavy duty machines were being imported in Pakistan for the first time ever. Machines worth Rs60 million will be places in the mobile laboratories of the authority’s central, northern and southern offices, he stated. The machines enable us to scan the quality of milk within minutes cutting down on our waiting time. Furthermore, they are also able to examine the quality of ketchup, water, edible oil and eggs. The authority is committed to cracking down on milk adulterators and ending this wicked practice, he stressed. He added that PFA were taking several steps to curb the sale of contaminated milk by placing screening pickets throughout Punjab. Moreover, PFA formed a special dairy safety team in December 2017 for this very purpose, he said.
