LAHORE: In a bid to share professional experience and improve performance delivery, the National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) and Rescue 1122 have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU).

The agreement was inked by NH&MP DIG Mirza Faran Baig and Rescue 1122 DG Rizwan Naseer on Sunday. Federal Minister for Health Saira Afzal Tarar and Motorway Police SSP Masroor Alam Kolachi were also present. On the occasion, Faran Baig said the purpose of the agreement was to establish a cooperative link between the two organisations to maximise outreach and service delivery, while minimising emergency response time.

He added both organisations pledged to cooperate with each other and this would entail sharing of infrastructure, resources, technology, training facilities, database, community development and other areas.

Baig maintained the NH&MP had established six guidance centres on National Highways which were located at Shahpur Kanjrah, Renala Khurd, Sahiwal, Mian Channu, Khanewal and Ahmed Pur East. “Through the MOU, the NH&MP would make these guidance centres available to Rescue 1122 for ambulance and first aid facility,” he said.
