Child’s body fished from canal

The cause of death has yet to ascertained, said police.

LAHORE: The body of a minor child was fished out from BRB Canal near Barki Road on Sunday. A passerby spotted the body near Jallo Pind and informed the police. Upon getting information, they reached the site and recovered the body. The cause of the death has yet to ascertained, said police. In a separate incident, a 35-year-old man was critically injured when a kite string slit his throat near the University of Technology (UET) Lahore on Sunday. Police said that the victim, identified as Qaiser Ali, was on his way home on a motorcycle when a kite string slit his throat. As a result, he fell down and sustained a serious injury. Rescue 1122 officials rushed to the site and took him to a nearby hospital. Police also collected forensic evidence from the crime scene and recorded statements of the witnesses.
