Internet services suspended in Feb 2017 for security reasons

QUETTA: Despite passage of a year, 3G internet services are still suspended in Chagai, Pishin, Panjgoor, Killa Abdullah and a few other areas causing hardships for the consumers.

All mobile phones’ data and PTCL EVO wingle services had been switched off in February last year for security reasons but people neither were formally informed nor was a deadline for restoration given.

Local trader Haji Agha said people from all walks of life apprised the Inspector General Frontier Corps, the military officials and the local representatives but nothing had been done yet.

A political worker Mohammad Arif said, “Only DSL is working in Dalbandin. But its speed is so slow that it is of no use.” He cited increase in rush and limited capacity for the unbearable slow speed.

Several protest demonstrations were held for restoration of internet services in Dalbandin and its vicinity, but no one was available to address the issue.

Nearly all political parties, social organisations and others have demanded of the authorities to quickly restore internet services in Dalbandin and its vicinity.
